NAIL FILEZ part 1

Being sick sucks ass! Went to Target on my way home to pick up some Theraflu. I also ended up buying a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black. Woke up from a nap and decided to attempt a leopard design on my Candy Corn nails. I was PUT ON to the leopard designs by some friends recommending a dope ass nail shop in London called WAH NAILS. Ive been following them on twitter and downloaded a few pics of some super dope designs.

Coral and mint leopard
One of my faves, the beige leopard
Pastel leopard. Might try this one next time
Although my nails didnt come out looking as perfect as the ones above. I think I did a pretty good job on my 1st attempt. So yeah, I might need to go to NAIL SCHOOL lbvs.
My candy corn leopard. Still needs a little work

Oh and I am now the proud owner of the Hello Kitty Watch from the McDonalds Happy Meal!!!! Yes I love Hello Kitty, Mickey and Minnie and a bunch of other childlike characters.

When I'm bored.........

Drinkin wine inside my closet!

Came home this evening and thought I had tons of stuff to do. Changed my mind and figured my TO DO list didn't warrant immediate attention. So I played around on the net and came up on this dope I-tunes radio station that plays 90's r&b and hip hop its called Origin Radio Old School. They played Keith Murray, Total, and a whole bunch of artists that I used to listen to in high school. So while I'm jammin out to the station I painted my nails what I thought was gonna be neon pink and green, but ended up looking like yellow and orange, or candy corn as you can see in the pic above. After the paint dried I had a glass of Pomegranate wine and then started to play in my closet. Tried on my hot pink sandals with black tights and I loved the look! So yeah, I'll be rocking this look when it warms up outside! I'm all about mixing clothes and shoes from different seasons. And yes I WOULD wear white after Labor Day!
A knit dress would compliment this look

After playing in my clothes I started to play in my makeup. I tried on my very first red lipstick. Now I usually don't wear lipstick but its something about red lipstick that looks classically beautiful. I was surprised to like it on myself. Having full lips is not always an advantage when it comes to shades of lip wear. My very good friend recommended using a lip liner that's a couple shades darker then the red and it really made a difference. Maybe I'll wear it on NYE but in the meantime I gots to get RET TA GO out!

Comfort VS Painfully Cute

Tory Burch Reva in glitter

So while I was working in Bloomies today, I noticed two of their sales associates wearing the famous Tory Burch Reva flat. Now I'm usually not one to dictate what people should buy based on their pay but I know these usually go for $175 or more. I'm not sure if that's a wise purchase for employees who make $12 an hr but that's neither here nor there. What I thought was interesting was that the both of the associates were walking on the back of the shoe. If you notice in the pic above there is a strong elastic cut on the back of the heel. I actually own a pair of flats made similarly, and although I didn't spend that amount of money on them, they stay in the box because they're very uncomfortable . It made me think to myself, is it worth it to smother and damage your feet (putting your toes in a coma) just to be wearing whats considered "fashion forward"?!?! My answer is NO. Funny thing is that these 2 associates weren't the only women Ive seen walking on the back of these expensive flats. If I cant get the full function and comfort out of an expensive shoe then I wont waste my $ just trying to stay current in fashion. Now some may argue that heels/stiletto's would fit into the same category of cute but painful or uncomfortable. But of course I disagree with that. I make sure that EVERY heel I buy is what I deem to be comfortable. My definition of a comfortable heel is not in the height but more of the width of the heel and then other dynamics come into play. Whether its a platform, almond toe, pointy toe, peep toe, and square toe. One thing I will admit to is that I usually have a 2hr time limit in ALL heels and wedges. I actually think I might invest in those ballet flats that fit into the little bag for those nights when my 2hr time limit has expired! Nevertheless I advise everyone (male and female) to ONLY buy comfortable shoes. Especially males Ive seen them come out of their shoes because their feet hurt,TRAGEDY!!

INSOMNIA

Since I'm having a hard time sleeping tonight I thought about how I haven't watched a scary movie in a long time. Its soooo hard finding a scary movie buddy. Guys always think the scary movies aren't scary and just gay. Then the girls are always too scared to watch them. The last scary movie I watched was FRIDAY THE 13TH, the one from the 80's with Miguel Nunez(Juwanna Man). So now I have compiled a list of my favorite scary movies in no particular order.

  • IT (just a classic scary movie especially for my age group)
  • 13 Ghosts ( scared the shit out of me, but there was some funny lines)
  • Nightmare on Elm Street ( This movie is probably the root of my insomnia, Ive been a night owl my whole life and I think this movie is the reason why)
  • Phantasm ( Most people probably never heard of it but i remember it being one of the creepiest scary movies I ever seen. I think Robert Carradine was in it)
  • Def by Temptation (The 1st Black horror film. Although it was low budget that demon lady gave me some nightmares)
  • Candyman ( I still cant bring myself to watch this again)
  • 30days and 30nights ( Saw this at the theatre and my homegirl kept trying to leave before it was over. Thought she was slick)
  • Bram Stokers Dracula (Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, need I say more)
  • Night of the Living Dead (You would never catch me at anybody's cemetery when its dark)
  • Pet Semetary ( the little boy that came back from the dead was enough to scare me)
  • The Skeleton Key ( I love a horror and mystery combo)
  • Jeepers Creepers ( the title is corny but the movie will have you stressed and nervous)
  • The Ring ( yep it was creepy and had me jumping out my seat)
  • Silent Hill ( this movie had me trippin. I had no idea they were dead the whole time SMH)
  • Poltergeist ( I cant mention this movie without saying CAROLANNE COME TO THE LIGHT CAROLANNE)
  • Anaconda ( I'm already terrified of snakes and yeah you know the rest lol)
  • Species (This actually falls under sci-fi)
  • Aliens ( To this day I cannot watch Aliens. The little creatures that would come out the mouth and the stomach just left me terrorized.

LAWD I cant even look at this pic that long SMH

Jeepers Creepers

This man was the creepiest character on Poltergeist

Tangina " Come into the light Carolanne"

See that lil creature emerging from its mouth!

FUN AND SUN IS ON THE WAY YAAAAYYYY

I finally booked my ticket!!! I'm sooo ready to slide my toesies in some sandals. I had my eye on these crown vintage wedges that I stumbled on by browsing shopstyle.com. Checked them out at DSW. com and promised to pick them up this week. I get into the store today to try them on and noticed a $10 increase on the price. Decided to just order them online. So then I carried on upstairs to Marshalls. Bad idea.... Walked out of there with a Kathy Van Zeeland bag. Initially wanted to gift it to my BFF and then I remembered I bought her something similar for Christmas last year and she said it was too dressy for everyday. I'm now having buyers remorse and will probably return it cause I'm over the big studs now and I'm putting some money in my "purse fund" for that Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr. Q Hillier Hobo in Currant. But ANYWHO I need to think of some fun stuff to do while I'm in Miami that I never did before. This is my 4th trip there so I'm thinking of going to Jungle Island (they actually have REAL LIGERS like the one Napolean Dynamite was drawing in his notebook), maybe a speed boat tour, or casino. One thing for sure is that I'm definitely going to get my DANCEHALL fix while I'm there! Chicago reggae scene is WIGGEDY WACK! I wanna hear some new Vybez, Busy, Serani and Beenie!!!!

First Post and First Snow

Zabby Duck Boots at Target
SOOOOO I woke up this morning from a wine induced coma to a snow storm! Why Gawd, why! URRRGGGGHHH Tried to find a pair of winter boots yesterday with the duck design on the bottom. No luck. So while I'm staring out the window looking at the snow fall I'm thinking about how to use my UNUSED ticket from Delta Airlines. Let me just say I will NEVER buy another ticket from them. ALL of their flights leaving Chicago have a connection. WHAT THE BLOOD CLOT!!! Chicago is not Cincinnati this is the 2nd largest city in the US and Delta offers no nonstop flights. C-O-N-spiracy!!! So I wanna use my ticket to go to FL and board one of those big cruise ships. Preferably Royal Caribbean cause Carnival was a lil bootleg(experience from my last cruise with them) and I AINT got time for no SPAMCATION. So I checked out a few last minute cruise deals and found one that goes to Key West and Cozumel. $239 per person based on double occupancy. That's a steal but who in the hell is gonna go with me. Its the holiday season and all though most of my friends don't have children things have been rough for everyone including me but I can spare a lil change if its a vacation away from this snow. Forget taking the opposite sex. Them ni@@as be trippin. But it made me think how much I need a RIDE or DIE travel buddy. Not that I haven't enjoyed my trips with my friends but everyone has obligations. I guess I need someone like ME lol. Well in the meantime I'll just figure out how I'm gonna shovel my car outta the snow without appropriate boots. SIGH
